Our Standout Customer Review:
"Amazing service from Tim and his colleagues. Long standing problem with rats accessing the fabric of our building following an extension build. Tim was able to identify the problem through a thorough survey of our drains (much more thorough than a previous survey which failed to identify the issue). Tim sealed off the access point by putting a sleeve in the pipe. Aftercare was great too as post fix visits were carried out to ensure the problem was in fact resolved. Great, friendly and professional service. Very glad we found Pestforce and very grateful to finally be rid of our unwelcome visitors. Can't recommend highly enough." - from Dawn Dance (23/10/2025) via Google

We have a genuine soft spot for dogs and always prioritise safety for pets when designing and implementing treatment plans.

Tim James - Owner and Lead Technician
Tim has lived and worked in Reading for over 30 years and has been running Pestforce Reading for the past eight. Before entering the pest control industry, Tim ran a smallholding alongside a doggy day care business, giving him a strong, practical grounding in animal behaviour and problem-solving.
Tim specialises in rodent issues, particularly rats gaining access via damaged drainage systems. He is RSPH Level 2 qualified and trained in advanced CCTV drain surveys, as well as no-dig structural drain repair techniques. This allows him to identify underlying causes and deliver long-term solutions rather than short-term fixes.
Outside of work, Tim enjoys country living, walking his dogs — Kasper and Violet — and indulging his love of food and cooking. Known for his calm, methodical approach, Tim takes pride in explaining things clearly and helping customers feel confident they’re in safe hands.

Claire Skates - Contracts Manager
Claire is Tim’s partner and manages all commercial contracts for Pestforce Reading. With six years’ experience in pest control and a background in customer service, Claire oversees more than 60 active commercial clients across the area.
She is often the first point of contact for businesses and is valued for her care, compassion, and professionalism. Claire ensures everything runs smoothly behind the scenes, from scheduling and communication through to ongoing contract management.
Outside of work, Claire enjoys city breaks, shopping, spending time with family, exercising, and walking the dogs. She takes real pride in supporting local businesses and building long-term relationships.

Adam Thomas - Rodent Expert
Adam is a long-term friend of Tim’s and brings a lifetime of farming experience into his role. Having lived in Reading for most of his life, Adam has an excellent understanding of the local area and the types of pest issues commonly faced by properties across it.
His background gives him a strong instinct for identifying rodent ingress points and understanding pest behaviour, particularly when dealing with rats. Calm, practical, and knowledgeable, Adam is a reassuring presence for customers.
Outside of work, he enjoys shooting and has a keen interest in cars.

Warren Thomas - Technician
Warren is Adam’s son and represents the next generation of the business, making Pestforce Reading a true family operation. After previously working part-time, Warren has now joined the team full-time and provides a reliable extra pair of hands on larger and more involved jobs.
Keen to learn and develop within the trade, Warren brings enthusiasm, reliability, and a strong work ethic to every day. Outside of work, he has a big interest in cars and is currently learning to drive.
Specialist Focus: Long-Term Rat Ingress Solutions
Unlike general pest control providers, our primary focus is resolving complex and recurring rat problems.
Many infestations across Bracknell, Wokingham, Binfield, Warfield, Crowthorne, Finchampstead and Winnersh stem from:
- Damaged underground drainage
- Displaced pipe joints
- Structural gaps created during extensions
- Shared drainage systems between properties
We are trained in advanced CCTV drain surveys and no-dig structural drain repair techniques.
This allows us to identify hidden access points that are frequently missed during standard inspections.
Our approach is methodical, thorough and solution-led. Call us on 01344 834 134

Common Questions
How do I know if I have a rat problem? Look for droppings, scratching noises, gnaw marks, unpleasant odours or sightings. If unsure, arrange a professional survey.
Are treatments safe for pets and children? Yes. All treatments are delivered in line with strict industry safety guidelines and explained clearly before implementation.
Why do rats keep returning? Recurring infestations are often linked to drainage faults or unsealed structural gaps. Identifying and correcting these is key to long-term success.

Recent Jobs
Wasps nest causes concern in a place of care in Bracknell, RG12 - October 2022
Pestforce Pest Control Bracknell received a call to attend and treat a wasp nest in a place of care in Bracknell. Our team arrived at an agreed time and began by completing an initial inspection of the area. The wasp’s nest was identified in an air brick next to a fire escape. Safety advice was given to the management, in order to keep the fire escape area clear as the wasps will potentially become aggressive for a couple of hours. We began the treatment using an insecticide treatment. Once again this was another successful wasp nest eradication.
Contractors greeted by rodents at an empty property in Bracknell, RG12 - September 2022
Pestforce Pest Control Bracknell received a call from a group of contractors who had arrived to start work on a vacant property in Bracknell and were greeted by rodents. Our experienced rodent team arrived swiftly and on entering the property a deceased rat was discovered immediately on the living room floor. We conducted a survey of the full property, further evidence of both rats and mice was uncovered throughout the property. Multiple points of entry were also noted. We set to work on our highly successful rodent treatment program by setting up bait trays and the use of tracking dust. On our second visit to this property, we were pleased to note that bait had been taken and the tracking dust had enabled us to identify the point of entrance. The baits stations were replenished, and a third visit scheduled. We arrived for the third and final visit to this property, our team were delighted to note that no bait was taken and there had been no further signs of activity in the property. To complete this treatment we used wire mesh in all possible entry points which will help to prevent future infestation.
